Will zoro ever be considered a better swordsman than mihawk? I mean Mihawk is already the strongest swordsman in the world and he does not have a single scar on his body. Zoro already has two rather big scars.

So my question is if mihawk is the genius child who held the sword? Reaching that level without a single scar, is just amazing. Will zoro be able to surpass him in a true sense? even if he succeeds will it be an accomplishment?

Actually, we don't know if he has a single scar. He's always covering up his body. For all we know he could have 100s of scars all over his body, but not a single one on his back.

And why ask this question... we already know Zoro will be the goat swordsman by eos :/. Even IF Mihawk was born talented with a sword, all that means is that Zoro will have to work to surpass him which he is doing. There's nothing wrong with that, doesn't matter as long as he surpasses him.

And also, what's with that last question? Will it be an accomplishment if he surpasses Mihawk? What?

Well to begin with, we don't know for sure if he has any scar on his body :p

And of course Zoro will surpass him one day. That's his goal after all. Now wether it's Mihawk or Shiryu he defeats, that I don't know. But it can implied that eventually, he'll beat one of those 2 rivals and become the World's Strongest Swordsman. Will that be a success in a true sense ? I think so. It's his will and determination that will get him that far and not just his natural-born genius. It's the typical shounen character. People persistent, determined and with great will usually overcome all burdens and reach the top.

Their persistent nature and endless training eventually pays off. I don't wanna say that other characters like Mihawk don't train or whatever, but it's just that they seem like they were good to begin with, whereas people like Zoro started from the bottom and with painful training, they managed to get on that level. Plus he is a main character, so that's why I say yes. He will surpass Mihawk and become the WSS eventually. v_v

His body's Upper half has been revealed to be scar less, his face is scarless. And if there is a scar it is shown with prominance, even rayleigh has one. So since it has not been shown, I am guessing he has none. Also it was stated that he emerged from the war of the best unscathed. But, you are right he may have a minor scar not a major one, like luffy or zoro.

That last question means, Zoro is trying to reach a goal, and he has already lost an eye and nearly split his body in 2. While the person at the top of the ladder has already faced tons of enemies is absolutely unscathed in his journey to the top. So even if zoro is successful in becoming the strongest swordsmen, if you weigh it against mihawk I find that achievement a bit pale in comparison.

How would beating Mihawk pale in comparison to Mihawk's feats?

He had some scars(or dust) during training here(as a kid)

You must be registered for see images

So i don't think he was never injured, just that the injuries weren't grave enough to leave permanent scars.

Not having scars doesn't mean you were never bloodied in battle. Did you watch the fight Zoro vs Daz Bones? Daz covered Zoro in blood entirely, cutting him in multiple pieces when he was down, yet he came out of that fight with no permanent scar

That's kind of irrelevant. Because the amount of scars he has mean nothing, because Zoro will surpass him in due time. So it shouldn't matter imo if Mihawk started out better.

Dude Mihawk has definitely been damaged a lot over his life. Doflamingo, Akainu(so far), Hancock, Garp are all scarless. Garp was nearly killed by Roger a few times, and Doflamingo was lynched as a child. Hancock was abused. They should have scars, Oda just doesn't draw them. Scars are literally just to add pizzazz in OP, if Oda scarred them proportionate to damage, practically all the major fighters would look like Deadpool.

He can never surpass Mihawk in pure talent. In actual combat prowess yes.

But its a dull accomplishment, you know if Zoro & Mihawk were the same age and the same will and the same training Mihawk would always win.

Mihawk is obviously smarter than Zoro but It was never implied that he has more potential than Zoro. Zoro will most likely surpass him in his 20's which means that Zoro actually has more potential than Mihawk.

He'll definetly one day surpass Mihawk, and he'll develope a something that Mihawk will surpass Zoro in.

Indominable will

That's why Hawkeyes finds Zoro, luffy, and shanks so fascinating.

But for now, Hawkeyes hold the torch as the strongest.

We dont know Mihawk's age when he attained that title. If I were to guess, it would be around 28 or 29 a little before the first episode of one piece and he has been holding that title ever since. Also if the theory about Ray being the earleir strongest swordsman is true, then maybe around 26.

But ye you have a point when it comes to age.
