I get that he didn't need to use Haki against Luffy considering swords can hit Luffy. So maybe he just chose not to, but still

If he used Haki, he would have bypassed Buggy's Devil Fruit Body and actually sliced him

Any thoughts?

P.S. I'm not doubting Mihawk's abilities at all, but it's still weird

Maybe's buggy's fruit has the ability to be immune to sword slashes regardless of whether or not haki is used.

Do you think he went ALL out at Marineford ? He was just accessing people and having his fun, while also fulfilling his duties as a Sichibukai. v_v

He don't need haki to hurt Luffy and he didn't want to attack Buggy.

Not necessarily, Buggy isn't a logia, no slices effect him. Maybe haki infused slashes are included?

But he obviously has haki, it shouldn't even be questionable that someone on his level doesn't have haki. How else would he have survived the New World successfully? Rayleigh even stated it is a necessity there.

As most people, out of nowhere rank him around Yonko level... He should have at least 2 Haki types...
- CoA
- CoO

What I believe is that he doesn't need to be able to bust up mountains or islands to be the best swordsman... Just that no swordsman should be able to win a swords-play against him, even if it means countering flying slashes or close combats like Zoro's Iai...

But IMO he should have CoA... or he's just useless against likes of Buggy or Logia...

I believe he was holding his punches in that particular instance, and just not using chakra due to the nature of his opponent and the situation he was in. But another reason could be that he didn't get to cut Buggy, he divided himself reflexively to dodge the sword.
If I were to guess, I'd say it's the first instance.

Now, one thing is certain though, Mihawk has Haki, and had Haki at that point. First of all, he's the best Swordsman, it's absurd to think he doesn't have something that is, if essence, the physical emulation of Willpower and Strength of Spirit. Secondly, this might be a spoiler if you haven't finished Marineford Arc and the next 2.

He was Zoro's mentor during the time skip, and Zoro has Haki. He learned to master it with Mihawk

Mihawk is the strongest swordsman in the One Piece world. If Zoro Post Timeskip learned Haki, im pretty sure that Mihawk has Haki. In the beginning Oda didn't think much of the concept ''Haki''. He had in mind to finish the One Piece manga in 100 chapters, but this gradually became more and so he expanded the One Piece world a lot more. I'm also thinking that Mihawk hasn't show his ''true'' ability yet. Perhaps he only fought at his limit, when he fought Shanks.

Mihawk is probably familiar with Buggy through Shanks, they had a brotherly bond after all. He probably chose not to because if he had actually killed Buggy, Shanks would've been very upset with him and probably seriously tried to fight him. I'm sure he respects Shanks enough to spare his fellow.

Or I could be reading too much into it, and lord Buggys haki is stronger than Mihawk so he couldn't slice him.

I believe so. Haki doesn't negate Devil Fruit powers, but rather, touches the body underneath. Buggy's fruit though his having his body split. Basically, since Haki allows you to touch their body underneath, but Buggy has no "underneath body", even Haki slashes would be useless against him.
