Btw Itachi's susanoo is special, he doesnt need to unleash its full form, two susanoo arms are enough to pull out the weapons he needs to win.

There's also ephemeral which works by pointing, something that makes it ever harder for gai because now Itachi's entire upper body is unavailable to him.
