Midori
Midori
Its forever sunny outside. Nothing but green grass and the smell of the ocean from the beach behind our village. Every single time I set foot outside, I get the feeling that today is going to be the day I set out. Explore new places, take risks, and achieve greatness. No one has really ever left this village before. If you were born here, you grew up here and lived here your whole life. I love my home, but I feel like I can do something bigger with my life. Something only dreamers think. Every day I stay here I feel like I waste one more day away. That's why tonight, I leave the village, only to come back as a hero. Midori
Mother
Midori, you need to come inside, we finally have food ready. Stop your day dreaming and grab Forge. As a protector you'd think you'd be more careful where you kept it.
Midori
Stop my day dreaming she said. If she only knew that's the one thing I can never do. Me being the youngest Protector to have ever protect the village, she worries non stop. Saying that being 17 is way to young. And the fact I always have a bandages wrapped around my eyes. She always tells me that she wants to see my handsome eyes, but she really wants me to take them off because she thinks I cant see. And being a Protector, I'd be the first one killed. But what she fails to realize is, I can see everyone, but no one can see my eyes. A tactic that is very deadly when in combat, not only that but it helps me concentrate better.
Later that night....
Midori
Alright, everything I need is in here. Money, a bit of food and water, and a few other weapons besides Forge. I'll be able to make it to the next village by the morning. Hopefully I wont have any problem sneaking out. That'll be the hardest part. Well, that and sneaking past the night guard. Alright, time to man up.
Midori opened his wooden blinds, looked at his family picture on his night stand, and grabbed it before opening the window. He closed it softly behind him, and darted right to the roof's of the villages shops. Running and jumping, he finally sees the last roof he has to jump to before making his final leap. When he does, he makes it to the villages entrance. With no guard in sight, he finally walks over to where the road begins. Looking back at the village, he takes one final glance, before departing to find his life's meaning. Taking one step on the road, he suddenly feels a hand on his shoulder.
Father
I know since its all hot and sunny here, you dont wear a shirt. But other places are cold and sometimes even snowy. Take this Jacket with you.
Midori
Father, how did you know I was going to leave tonight? I didnt even know until this afternoon
Father
Son, when your a parent you realize things about your child. Your older brother, a Protector of the village, and his eyes tell me he's content with that. Your eyes, tell me that your accomplishments of being a Protector this early, just wasnt satisfying enough. And as your father, I raised you to be responsible, I know your reckless too, but your a good child. By not telling your mother, she's gonna ask questions. She is going to ask me specifically because I'm on guard duty. I'm going to tell her there was a mission outside of the village, across seas. You need to write to her to keep this secret of ours alive. You set out and do what you need to do. You know that we'll always be here if you need us. Just promise me that you'll make sure to use Forge only when its needed for. Swordsman's only rely on their blade as a last resort. And to protect others and ourselves. I'm gonna return back to the village now. If I see you are still here, or your walking anywhere near the village, we're gonna have problems. * walking away, leaving a single tear drop that he tried to conceal by turning, wash away in the breeze*
Midori put his Jacket in his bag, and ran, leaving tears run down from his bandages. Looking down at Forge in his hand, he gripped it tighter and dried the tears away with his hand. Midori's thick brown hair flowing to the side while running along the road.
Midori
Father, you were always the most mysterious person I've met. I lived with you my whole life and I still cant seem to understand you sometimes. You are a good parent, you and Mom. Shes going to be devastated, but hopefully this charade will keep up, for atleast a good while.
The Next Morning, Midori's mother is standing at the beach, having her husband walk up to greet her
Mom

Father

Mom
