Microsoft word help

So my girlfriend dropped my laptop -_- and it kept crashing and freezing afterwards. I had to reset my laptop so everything is erased (music videos and pics and programs). I treid opening Word but it said I need an access code to use the full version. I Put in my code and its not registering. Is there any way I can reset my current one? or will I have to buy a new one?
