[Debate] Microbial life on Mars.

So... We all know that recently, NASA sent a shuttle to Mars; the "Curiosity Rover". The purpose of this shuttle, is to determine if Mars is, or ever was capable of supporting Microbial Life. Supposedly, NASA has made a "historic discovery". Now, I don't know what this is discovery is. But, maybe they have found some evidence of microbial life on Mars, or maybe they've found that it was able to support microbial life.

So, my question is. If they've found life on Mars. Does this disprove the whole "we're alone in our universe" argument? If it doesn't, why doesn't it? I mean, life is life. Sure, it might only be a microorganism... still; it's life.

Anyone who thinks we're alone in a sea of trillions of planets are either delusional or close minded.
If they did indeed find life on mars it would disprove of the we're alone in our universe, because life is life.

even if we dont find microbial life on mars ..... we cannot conclude that "we are alone in the universe"
considering the vastness of universe there is bound to be life in some other planet ..... its just a matter of time and technology needed to find it

This galaxy alone is huge, and who knows how many there are in this universe? Only an idiot would think that we're alone in this universe and Mars is small so it would make sense that the life there is microbial

Well said. Either way, I think Mars could have been pretty much like earth a 100 million years ago or so.. That's what we can assume if they find micro-organism on Mars. Also, scientists have confirmed that Mars at some point had a ozone layer since they found out that the surface IS magnetized. So, who knows...there might have been life on there a looong time ago.

Instead of looking for life they should focus on why there isn't life. trust me whatever happened there we don't want it to happen here.
