The Mets started off the game bad today, just as yesterday. The bats were dead, and some questionable fielding led to some early runs for the braves. But once again we got another very strong performance from our starting pitching. I think we're at either 8 or 9 straight games in which our starter went 6+ innings, also over the stretch the combined ERA is under 3 which is great. The hitting sort of came to life in the later innings as we were able to come back from a 3-0 deficit to tie it up and send it into extra innings. We got another great performance from K-Rod and had some great at bats in the 10th inning to get us the win. It didn't hurt for the Braves to help us out with horrible pitching in the 10th. Gotta love getting the win because the pitcher walks in this walk off run

i am a yankee fan lol but yes the mets have been doing great the only thing that is a problem ATM is that they cant score ANYTHING for santana they average 1.5 runs a game for him

Ugh I know. I've never seen anything like it. Its not only the hitting either, its everyone. You know, at first I was "Its ok, its just bad luck" but now I don't know. I went to Citi field for the first time last night. We're on a 6 game winning streak, the hittings doing good, nice crisp fielding, the starting pitching is phenominal, and were closing out games. Weathers great, stadiums beautiful, I feel like we have this game locked up before the first pitch.

But of course, right on key, they play like they're trying to lose. The Brave's first 5 runs were unearned. Its incredible. Its not only the stuff you see on the scorecard either. People are overthrowing cutoff men, people aren't covering bases, people are making throws, etc.

I think it has to be the mentality of the Met's position players. They feel like with Santana on the mound, they can take the day off. And then they play like a high school team and end up losing a game in which Santana gives up no earned runs.

In Santana's 2 losses this season, he has a combined ERA of 0.00.

My God.....I just watched what was quite possible the WORST loss in any sports game I have ever seen. Why do we try to lose games? I don't understand it.

Error after error, missing 3rd base when trying to score the go ahead run in the 10th inning, bringing in Beltran from center field to play a 6 man infield....WHAT THE F*CK IS GOING ON!?

At that point as a Mets fan, you've accepted that you're going to lose. Its just one of those days that the Mets feel like they should lose a game, so at every opportunity they have, they're going to go ahead and say "f*ck us, you guys can win this game."

And sure enough, Dodgers have bases loaded in the Bottom of the 10th and 0 outs. We get the first out on a shallow pop up to left field. Maybe, just maybe, the Mets have decided they want to win the game. And then......we get the ground ball! Easy, routine grounder to Jeremy Reed at first base, were about to get our second out and have a good chance of getting through the inning!

Mets: "Hey F*ck our fans, we want to lose tonight."

Jeremy makes a horrible throw home and the ball goes to the back stop. Game over. Dodgers win.
