I just had a thought; jutsu like Amaterasu, Kamui (Kakashi/Obito), Kotoamatsukami and Tsukuyomi are activated by the user's eyes and emanate from user's eyes. Though it should also be mentioned that jutsu like Susanoo and Obitio Kamui ("phasing" ability") emanate from the body. The overall pattern nonetheless, is that Mangekyou abilities mostly used through ocular means.
In contrast, the jutsu of the Rinnegan (which Nagato displayed) were activated by the user's eyes and emanated from the user's body.
Uchiha are seemingly specialized in delivering jutsu directly from their eyes. While Nagato's Rinnegan abilites show him having a specialization in delivering jutsu through his body.
With Rinbo Hengoku we see what appears to be a jutsu which has the opposite effect of Chibaku tensei:
It's interesting that the technique was delivered through Madara's eyes (in a Amaterasu, Kamui etc. manner). In contrast, Chibaku tensei was delivered through Nagato's/Deva's body. It's an interesting pattern.....
I think this Uchiha specializtion has also made its way into the Rinnegan's jutsu now that Madara has a flesh and blood body. In addition, I think Madara might also be capable of a Chibaku tensei like ability which is delivered in a manner similar to Rinbo Hengoku.

Is a Deva path technique.
It is similar to Shinra tensei, however the point of origin is not the user itself, but any point that the rinnegan user chooses.
E.g. Bansho Tenin attracts a selected thing to the rinnegan user, whereas Chibakue tensei attracts things to the ball of gravity.
Thus whilst shinra tensei pushes everything away from the user, Limbo Hengoku pushes everything from any point in space that the user chooses and can see, thus making it similar to techniques like Kamui and Amaterasu.
In this chapter, the gravitational explosion (push) occured directly above the Sanbi, hence why it was pushed down into the ground, whilst the other Bijuu were pwned and pushed away like the toad summons vs Pain.
