i think they went down hill in recent years. st anger was way below standard also lars and james have got really egotistical. got kicked out a circle of friends cause i said st anger sucked no room for diference of opinion there lol. i would have to say kill em all is my fave next to the black album.

I've listened to metallica when I was young..Just as you say, there are a few songs that are epic Unforgiven I, II and Nothing else matters(we had to play that song on gitar and sing along at school )

I'm a pretty big Metallica fan. I prefer the Ride the Lightning and Kill 'Em All albums, but Master of Puppets is a close contender.

As for the rest of their stuff. Most of Black Album, and everything after it was complete and utter fail. I just absolutely despise St. Anger and Death Magnetic for how much Metallica changed during those albums.

Megadeth and Slayer definitely still hold their title high as 2 of the big 4 of thrash. (What's Anthrax up to?) But Metallica has soiled their title imo.

Love that song. Me and some friends were pretty stoked when we saw Zombieland. (It plays in the opening of the movie)
