I need opinions and advice for this particular matter.

Well lately I've been feeling down since a near death experience I've had recently (about a few months ago) and I've been pretty paranoid and absolutely depressed plus things I've been through in the past. I'm 17 and my mother tells me it's just me going through my teenage years and such but I think that it's not just that but who am I kidding I honestly have no clue what's going on in my mind. Is this a common transition? I feel as if I'M over analyzing the situation and it's causing me to go crazy. It's hard to talk about the experience due to how traumatizing it is to me. I've recently told a person I trust a few weeks ago about it but she seemed like she wasn't listening or interested, so I'M once again looking to the opinions of my fellow internet users. What's good ways to clear my mind and get back to not having such a clouded mind?

Any help is wonderful at this time. Thank you.

Go out and hang out with friends, clear your mind. Replace the near death experience with new and more positives memories.

If talking to RL friends don't suffice, there are those who are here on NB willing to talk, if you want.

Preoccupying yourself with the things that you love to do is a great diversional activity. Whenever you find yourself down, try to steer away from negative thoughts and do something that you like to do, for example drawing or dancing or listening to music.

Kindly stay away from alcoholic beverages, since that could only exacerbate things. It's one hell of a depressant.

Surround yourself with positive thoughts and positive people, since those who ooze negativity would only weigh you down.

That being said, I think it would be wise also to consult a professional regarding your condition, so they can assess it. I sincerely hope this is only a phase, a short-term one.

Stay strong.

Again thank you and I'll inform my mother into making me an appointment for a psychiatrist or therapist near me.
I appreciate your help.

If you heal your depression, everything else will gone.
