From my knowledge, in order to break from genjutsu one must surge chakra throughout their body gaining back control of their disrupted chakra network, such surges may be from their own Kai, an elemental jutsu(mostly seen from lightning techniques), external sources that send surges through the recipients body/mind, ect.
Priest throws a scrolls towards his student. It contains instructions on how to break genjutsu. After reading and understand, he is to read a second scroll containing the next genjutsu. The would have to battle his clone in a spiritual warfare, using the genjutsu he collected from the scroll and can if he likes, layer it with another genjutsu he had learned.
Priest makes 50 clones for training purposes.
One of my clone darts towards you but first putting you in an a-rank where everywhere is dark. He darts towards you in order to get close and punch you
Genjutsu: Kai ) - Illusion Technique: Release
Rank: C-S
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 15-40
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user does one hand seal to focus and then
proceeds to disturb his chakra flow by forcefully stopping it
momentarily and then "spiking" his spiritual energy,
unbalancing his chakra. This dispels any genjutsu set upon
the user except MS Eye Techniques, Paralysis-like Genjutsu
and Demonic Illusion: Toad Confrontation Chant. The
effectiveness of this technique is dependent upon the skill of
the user. A Jounin rank ninja can dispel Genjutsu up to C-
rank. An S-class ninja can dispel Genjutsu up to B-rank. A
Sannin rank ninja can dispel Genjutsu up to A-rank. A Sage
rank user can dispel Genjutsu up to S-Rank. The user may
use this technique through physical contact on others to
dispel them from Genjutsu. The technique can only be used
once per turn and the user still needs to fully follow the logic
as to why he figured out it was an illusion.
( Kori Shinchū no Jutsu ) - Sly Mind Affect Technique
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost:15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user casts an illusion on the opponent that
makes them believe they are travelling in a straight line,
when instead they are moving in circles. This is only effective
on moving opponents. If the opponent travels in the circle
for hours, they will be exhausted.
Upon catching the scrolls and reading the first one, i continue on to read the second one. As im reading i notice Sensei Priest has made numerous clones that he claims are for training exercises. While i look up toward him my surroundings begin to darken without reason, whilst i can hear sounds of footsteps approaching, the thought of what i have just read on the scroll appears in my head, i immediately perform a single handseal as i momentarily stop my chakra flow then rapidly spiking it causing it to flow at a higher rate than usual, snapping me out of the genjutsu, revealing an incoming clone running toward me, i quickly release chakra to cast an illusion amongst the incoming clone, to make it believe it still running toward me.

Priest looks as how the student deal with the clone. Hewould ask him. So what if you are the receiving end, how would you detect you are in the same illusion?
If i were running toward the enemy and the jutsu were placed on me, while in battle a ninja should be paying attention to all aspects, sounds, the breeze of the wind, the coolness or warmth on the battlefield all things thats may help them without relying on only one of their senses. I would take into consideration besides the fact we ninja run fairly quick, so seeing no real progress made but a feeling of running in place would flood my mind as well as hearing the footsteps of me running in reality from the genjutsu would trigger me to realize something isnt right, if there were to be incoming attacks, theres possibility that i would be able to hear the incoming technique or feel vibrations around me that send off a response that nothing that im feeling is happening in the genjutsu.. kai out.
Priest applauds the student for being so smart with his answers. He would command one more clone to run towards you. The student is required to disable/immobilize the clone and interrogate him. Thus the reason for giving the student the next set of techniques. The first one is used for interrogation and the second shows a fireball engulfing the target. Assume my clone is two ranks lower than you.

Flattered by sensei's applause Arigato continuing to listen to further instruction. Following by Sensei commanding another clone to run toward me, i immediately channeled chakra throughout my body raising both arms connecting my hands together to form a single boar seal, releasing a burst of swift chakra as i took off sprinting toward the incoming clone, as i approached the clone with great speed i raised my left arm blocking my face, as i lowered my right arm while ccking it back before aggressively thrusting it into the stomach of the clone, extending my arm with such force that i would lift the clone off the ground, pushing against his body with my fist, whispers of a gentle Shh.. would radiate into the ears of the clone as it gasped for air. While my fist is connected with the clones chest i would release an interrogation jutsu upon the clone, layered with an illusion of a huge ball of fire that would appear to be dropping down upon the earth making its way closer until the clone would spit details of what i want to know out. Or the simple safe words .. "Daddy"
