Mei's Youton takes a gauntlet

This thread will discuss how effective Mei's Youton is in terms of putting down her opponent, breaking through defences, etc. It isn't in order so don't say where it stops but give a brief analysis as to what happens.

In the event someone gets hit but survives, Mei is allowed to douse them with more and more lava so explain to me whether you believe the victim will be able to escape, get rid of the lava and be able to fight again.

Youton Youkai no Jutsu

Manipulating the strong acid of a large volcanic mud flow to corrode ones flesh.

For Godaime Mizukage it's possible to use the Youton Kekkai Genkai. inside her body, chakra is changed into strong acidic fluid, everything is melted by the dangerous Jutsu. Out of the mouth gushes (blasts) out a quantity of viscous fluid, the shape and amount is at the liberty of the Jutsu's users. When spit forth at short range it's speed drastically increases (I'm pretty sure?), a wall that obstructs ones path, to use in more than one direction is feasible.

Apparently not only is it extremely hot, it also holds acidic properties.

Feat Wise, it did some

after a few seconds of exposure which is still a nice feat because V3 susanoo is extremely durable in comparison to most defences/characters in the manga considering Tsunade's punches were tanked with

In real life, lava causes one to burst into flames but in fiction, characters are usually depicted to melt away.

Do realize that Mei's lava is not just lava but acidic lava. Acid in a gaseous form is strong enough to

) but in liquid form it should be more potent due to greater density and heat which makes acidic reactions proceed at a faster rate.

Another thing to note, acid bypasses durability which means that someone more durable will melt at the same rate as someone less durable. This is proven by the fact that Sasuke's ribcage susanoo melted at the same rate as the white Zetsu as well as the walls of the kage summit.

Stops at six. Kakuzu's domu is said to be as hard as diamond and I know that diamond can't be melted by ordinary lava, though Mei's lava isn't ordinary but I still doubt that it would do major damage. One could argue that Domu's properties are different, I suppose.

I don't know about the raikages. Sandaime could survive it but what if the lava seeps into his mouth, eys, ears, and nose? That can't be good news.

Raikages will definitely feel it. The technique would just eat through their cloaks and bodies.
Not sure about Kakuzu.

I only compared its hardness to diamond, and I also said that one could argue against Domu since it doesn't posess the same properties as diamond. Ignoring that, ribcage susano'o is a superior defense to Domu so the latter would melt at a faster rate.

I suppose Youton stops at seven then. Mei's KKG is partly doton which is weak to lightning, so maybe that could also factor in.

I think these three turn into a puddle nigh instantly and turn to ashes soon after. All in all their bodies will cease to exist.

4. Kimimaro

Kimimaro's bones are thicker so he'll take sightly longer to melt but he'll suffer the same fate as the aforementioned three.

5. Orochimaru

Oral rebirth is the only thing that can save him but if his head gets hit, he won't be able to use it. He'll have to quickly use it or else Mei could douse him with more lava and could get hit even after using oral rebirth.

6. Kakuzu in his Earth Grudge Fear mode

There are a large number of threads so I think Kakuzu can shed some of those threads to get rid of the lava. Unlike doton domu, he can move around in this mode which would help evade more lava and get rid of some lava on him. Not to mention these threads helped Kakuzu survive FRS so they wouldn't melt that easily.

7. Kakuzu in doton domu

He'll end up being immobile and a sitting duck for more and more lava. He can't get rid of it and the lava will melt through his skin and get to his hearts.

8. 4th Raikage with RNY
9. 3rd Raikage without RNY
10. 3rd Raikage with RNY

Without RNY, I can't see either Raikage surviving because acid attacks ignore durability. With RNY, the Raikages can simply pump more chakra to compensate for the chakra that gets melt.

Yoton was doing damage to V3 Susanoo and melted a wood clone's V3 Susanoo arm (there's the possibility that was acid mist but lava is more likely.) It would eventually melt through 4th Raikage's RNY which was pierced by chidori, then melt Ay as he bursts into flames. Third Raikage is simply too durable for that to work though.

Do you think Samehada can absorb Yoton on contact without damage?

Rest dies a horrible and painful death. Either by getting melted or by having their insides boiled.

Mei yonton is limited to rib cage since it failed to burn it. 1-5 get smoked not sure why there even on the list. Stops @ 7.​

Basically this, third Raikage had no plausible reasoning for his durability did he? Something that tanks attacks can still be melted easily unless its described as a material that we know would be otherwise. So I think it could get past raikages actually


Kakuzu's threads may be able to halt the lava though, if that's allowed in 6th or at least take the blow...so it may stop there as well.

just because mei isn't high tier, doesn't mean her jutsu isn't legit.

edit: Haku, Gaari, Neji & Pakura will all clear this gauntlet too w/ prolonged ''touch of death'' on the same general principle; Naruto=/=Bleach.

Jesus, and you are one of those who can't read between the lines? Orochimaru said that so Katsyuy moved her ass and let him save Tsunade.

Katsuyu and Tsunade have intel on Orochimaru so if Katsuyu agreed its acid can kill Oro, it means it does. Not to mention you are the one who is making the assumption that Orochimaru was lying to sooth Katsuyu's worry and usually the correct opinion is the one where the least assumptions are made.

Acid would get through his skin layers very quickly and he'll be drooping. Can't see him being able to physically spit out a body when his current body is mush.
