different mixture if she were to use the lava it wouldn't have been a problem for madara because lava moves very slowly that lava in the second pic is more water like

that's a nice explanation.. thanks! =D

I think the animation quality is the issue.
That episode where we first see her use it was during one of those eps that have good quality. While the one recently was an episode with mediocre quality.

Damn...I really want to see Mei let loose. I want to see her true power. I know her lava is a very strong KKG, don't get me wrong. But, I would like to see more of her water style and I know we will get to see it but if I remember correctly isn't it only the water dragon (with a kage power boost?).

yeah, the video quality of the latest episode is a little too crapy, unlike the episode when Madara dropped a meteorite to the battlefield.

what do you mean by a kage power boost

Well, when I stated "kage power boost" I just meant that the water dragon would be more powerful than a water dragon summoned by kakashi, Zabuza, or Itachi. Since Mei is a Kage, the water dragon's strength would be far more powerful.

well mei's specialty isn't water but she can do it without hand signs so i think it's better than Zabuza's but not as powerful as Tobirama's this is just speculation on my part though

That's true. I don't think her water style is on par with Tobirama's since he specializes in Water release.
But then again, I wasn't saying her water dragon is the most powerful, I was saying that since she is a kage it would be stronger than non-kage shinobi like Kakashi. Tobirama=kage.

Hi Goddess Tsunade. I think the yellow colour is actually the correct colour. The way the lava looked at the kage summit (red/orange and viscous like actual lava) was a mistake in my opinion.

If you look at the below image, the lava is thin and watery. Its not really lava in my opinion, more live a liquid version of Mei's boil release - some sort of chemical liquid that disolves whatever it makes contact with. This new lava in the latest shippuden episode reflects this. Also if i'm not mistaked, another translation for yoton is melting/dissolve style.

Also if you look at this picture, Mei's lava doesnt look al that fiery. Its light coloured with some darker coloured outline.

I'd also like to point out the different japanese kanji used for lava. In Roshi's case - 熔, using the fire (火) radical. In Mei's case - 溶, using the water (水) radical.

熔 - associated with solids, fusing and melting. 溶 - associated with liquids, soluble and dissolving.

Mei's "Lava Release" never actually created lava, the first time around in anime was the mistake, the dark yellow/orange fluid is correct as in manga.

The animation doesn't influence the color of the lava, that's just coloration.

And her 'lava' is supposed to look like that. Also remember that lava style can be used for actual lava (Roshi), rubber (rubber guy), quicklime (Kurotsuchi) and in Mei's case an acid like substance.
