He didn't fail did he? He put Ay under genjutsu and then for some reason let him go when he could have easily crushed him with susanoo.

Madara failed because Onoki intervened, but that's not the point. The manner he used to execute genjutsu shows us more proof how the Gokage can fight around Sharingan users avoiding genjutsu just like in canon, unless they are forced to by external forces such as Susano'o or other physical restraints.

I'm not saying he could have one shot all of them. Only Sasuke has shown that ability. He would probably have to do it one at a time, and in that time, the other kage's would release the affected person from genjutsu.

Sasuke affecting Bee with his genjutsu doesn't mean only Sasuke has the ability to bind everyone in a genjutsu. Naruto kills people with his Rasengan, he killed Deva Path. If I'm going to use trashy logic I'd say Deva > Sasuke or Bee so Naruto one shots everyone with Rasengan because only he showed the ability to do so. @bold addressed above

I am however saying that he could have placed any one of them in genjutsu. Ay was just maybe a random choice.

No he couldn't. Canon manga shows the Gokage fighting their way around a SUPERIOR sharingan user. Any excuse you make up to overlook the fact that Gokage and Mei already fought again a sharingan user and didn't fell prey to something like genjutsu is completely irrelevant.

The fact that madara never used limbo does not prove that he cannot use it in edo state. Would you say he couldn't use CT simply because he never used it in edo state? The only tech manga says he cannot do is gedo mazo.

Except that Madara already showed he can manipulate forces of gravity with Tengai Shinsei and Chibaku Tensei fall under that category. Except Limbo and Deva abilities are nothing alike. Except Limbo is a whole other Rinnegan jutsu which Madara only used after he got his real Rinnegan back. Except Madara used Limbo only after he stated he can access Rinnegan's full power in his alive state. Stop comparing techniques which are nothing alike. Madara using a whole other Rinnegan tech while in his alive state means he can only access it when he is in possession of his real Rinnegan and that's that.

I'm saying it's bound to happen, because even if she fights like you say she would, eventually sasuke can force her to look into his eyes, one way or another.

- Manga already shows Mei fighting sharingan users and avoiding genjutsu.
- Madara tries to use genjutsu forcefully on one of the Gokage with physical restraints such as Susano'o because he can't simply one shot them with genjutsu due to their intel on sharingan and fighting style
- Mei never gets affected by genjutsu during the whole fight against a sharingan user

Excuses like Madara didn't try, Sasuke will find a way because you want him to are pointless. Read the manga.

Then you're definitely wrong, grasping for straws or both. Probably it's both.

But here is the thing, he obviously didn't used all of his best non-PS moves as he defeated them in the end using anything else other than PS. The fact that it was off-panel doesn't make it any less of a fact that he didn't went all out. The only reason he resorted to PS was to make them lose motivation and therefore making it easier for him to crush them, and obviously not because it was his only way to get past them.

Going to need some proof from the manga Madara has techniques much stronger than what he used (outside o PS) and not only your word. And that's still far from the point. Madara using techniques much stronger than a simple genjutsu means he can't simply immobilise the Gokage with genjutsu. He already tried to poison them using Hashirama's Kajukai Korin.

No reason I'd believe Madara "held back" genjutsu when the manga already show he didn't and more.

And again, saying that Sasuke can't put Mei under genjutsu just because Madara didn't do it, it's a puerile statement to say the least as Madara fought 5 persons at the same time (that being the sole reason for Ay "breaking" his genjutsu, props to Onoki), which is by no means the same thing with fighting only one, and so on...

No, what's silly is any of you guys thinking Sasuke can simply one shot Mei with genjutsu because he affected someone with genjutsu before, what's silly is that you guys believe the method Madara needed to force Ay into genjutsu is anything near what MS Sasuke (in this thread) has in his arsenal. Madara needing several distractions from his v3 Susano'o Mokuton clones and his own Susano'o just to bind ONE of the Gokage gives you enough proof neither of them could get one shotted because they know how to fight their way against a sharingan user. Manga shows Mei fighting a whole fight against a superior genjutsu user and avoiding plus not once falling prey to it and that's FACT.
