I somehow get a sense that the spirit king once fought Meer Geer 400 years ago being summoned by Lucy mom after the todays episode, their conversation was like they knew each other well as well as each other weakness.
I also get the feeling the current storyline will go to a point that Lucy mom is also from the 400 years ago Generation, what makes me say this is becouse she has a mystery placed on her, and she might be the one who cast a spell that sealed Natsu END and his memories as END.....the fact that the spirit king knows about that book as being END spirit gives us hints of it.
I also think Lucy mom was capable of summonin the spirit King without needing to destroy a Gold Key, and I think the Current Lucy is also able to summon him wihtout a Key as well, knowing how strong the Spriggan is, she should atleast fight one using the power of the spirit King.
So Layla sealed the Evil Natsu and when Igneel was going to fight him, END powers was fading away from Natsu as he was slowly becoming Human thanks to Layla Effort which drained his Life force away from him, and made her young as well, she needed to regrow and on the mist of it she met Lucy father and they bow Lucy in the present time......the spell might have made Natsu to travel through time as well as the other Dragon slayers in order to defeat Acnologia becouse in the past they only managed to defeat END.
So In short Layla got a hand in sealing away END and that ate his Life force and Magical power and she somehow might have had great relations with the Dragons.
Meed Geer also might know that the current Natsu real identity is END, couse during their encounter he said some thing like " YOU ARE NO DRAGON" he also know that the Current Natsu Knows Nothing about END, that's why he dint go Futher in that discussion, as we know he is intellegent.
