Terrain: Kakuzu is walking down a lonely road, as the wind is blowing through the trees in the little beautiful and peaceful forest and the birds is singing in the sky, while the dust is running along the ground and his cloak is waving in the wind. He could hear a small waterfall in the distance as he stopped walking and looked at the road ahead. His eyes are fixed on the road, as he notices a young shinobi standing before him, Kakuzu stares at him with his lightgreen eyes while he takes off his old Akatsuki cloak, revealing his strange looking body.

When the fire is traveling underneath the ground it turns into Lava and when it is all gathered, Kakuzu throws a single smokebomb, and simultaniously makes the needed hand seal for the lava to erupt right beneath you, exploding right up towards you in a massive lava explosion*

As kakuza stomps on the ground and due to shino's vast knowledge of jutsu's he knows what is going to happen after the stomp so shino simply jumps to the air and uses his wind chakra to increase his height from the ground as shino is rising in the air and you are dropping your smoke bomb shino throws two explosive tag kunia'a at you making you chnage your move and not seperate into hearts shino while is still in the air uses another wind tech to shorten the distance between eachother (now mid range and shino on the groud) Shino: Is that it old man
Shino then focuses he lightning chakra to his hands and sends it to the ground and as the lightning is about to approach u shino seperates it into three lines one comes at you from the front and the other two to your left and right

Okay, so you are creating a tunnel, breathe the fire into the tunnel and thus create a lava from it to attack Mangekyo with. Then you throw a smokebomb, to obviously cover up what you are doing. You split in three and some of you goes underground. Now, I don't know how fast you did all that, but if your third part goes underground when you just used the fire jutsu there is a chance he will get burned. You did not specify where the third part went, just that he would go underground.

Basicly, what you just did was jumping into the air and increase the hight of your jump. But.. You only did that until he threw the smokebomb. Whilst he said that he threw the smokebomb and at the same time performed the handseal to make the lava erupt from the ground. This would mean that you should be hit by the lava for you did not move to the left of the right nor specified the hight of your jump. May I refer to more info about Exploding Flame Crater:

Furthermore, at this moment you still are at long range, if your kunai would reach the opponent it would definitely give him enough time to perform his move.
Do remember that you cannot see Jiraiya due to the smoke. Saying that "one comes at you from the front and the other two to your left and right" is therefore not the best option. I would rather say that one goes towards the location I last saw my opponent, though this is not necessary.
Advice two: If you don't know how a jutsu looks or are doubting it, look it up ^_^
Advice three: Look at how fast things are and compare them to how fast the opponent's moves are. If you throw a kunai from long range it would definitely take longer than from mid.
Advice four: If you cannot see the opponent he can in many cases not see you either (except for doujutsu users or sensors). You can use this to your advantage, though do know that the opponent tries this as well. If you cannot use the disadvantage, try to get it away. Use a wind jutsu to blow the smoke away, go underground so you can sense the opponent or use something like the rain jutsus to locate the opponent.

One cannot, in most cases, avoid jutsus by jumping or diving. You have to defend from the jutsu using another jutsu. Though it might have been possible to jump and therefore avoid the lightning, you could not see it due to your own smoke, if you still threw the smokebomb, however you did not say you didn't so we could assume you did. Idem Ditto for the kunais, even though they are slow, you still have to defend from them, but you couldn't see them either. Since you didn't defend from either of them, you probably are killed.
Advice five: Don't forget about previous moves. Take every possibility in consideration and if you do not do something, point it out as well.
You didn't evade my explosive kunia so you should be dead but this fight needs more fun so i will let it slide

Yeah, that could have been the case, and it might seem obvious to you, but it can be confusing for other people, therefore it always good to try to explain as much details about your move as possible ^_^
