Well chimpanzees most reoccurring trait is that all kinds of chimpanzees derive from human origin, chimpanzees and humans share about 90% of the human DNA. Chimps are rather big animals, the males chimps are bigger than the female ones, and all chimps have longer arms than legs, this is usually exploited by chimps when climbing or fighting.
Chimps commonly live in packs, and they have a ranking system of their own, the alpha male is the leader of the pack, he is responsible for coordinating the matters at hand, also the alpha male isn't necessarily the strongest chimp, but rather the one who is cunning and smart, and who has more allies, so basically the one who is sneaky and has followers

Chimps are also skilled fighters, they can deliver powerful blows to their opponents, and usually the bigger the chimp the stronger the blow, chimps mostly males are aggressive and territorial, they also use tools to provide food or to fight, the common tools they use are rocks and sticks, in a recent documentary I saw that they used spear, I am not sure of the producers were high or if chimps really use spears in RL xd

Their are two types of chimpanzee, and their is also a third type which is basically a unique chimp in one of the two main types(common chimps and bonober or something chimp >.<)that chimp os the albino chimp which has a white coloration instead of the traditional black
