Mayuri is a girl with black hair and gray pupils. Her hair forms fringes that sweep from either side. Mayuri's eyebrows are noticeably thick. Mayuri's outfit is simple and comfortable, consisting of a light blue one-piece dress and a hat of the same color. She also wears leggings underneath her clothing.
When she attends to her work in May Queen Nyan-nyan, she wears a blonde wig tied into a long ponytail. Mayuri also loves the rain and lightning caused by the storm above her city of birth.
Personality:
Although Mayuri is very lonely, speaks in a very wavy manner, loves the lightning as well as the rain, she always seem to be smiling and having fun. She's quite the optimist. She has trouble understanding complicated theories, but doesn't mind as long as it's enjoyable. Doesn't like people arguing, and is depressed when things are unpleasant. Though she'd like to ease the situation in such cases, she's not really good at reading between the lines. She often went with her grandmother to see the lightningstorms on her grandmother's back. Because of that, she has a habit of reaching her arm out to the sky at times, which has led Rintarou to naming it the "Lightning Palm". She abruptly does this (even if she's talking with someone), which surprises everyone around her. Mayuri always had this quoute she came up with: "The lightning of paradise only alights upon the hand that would not be afraid to grasp it."

History:
Mayuri was born in the Village Hidden by Rain, as its name suggests, it rains almost constantly due to a storm above the village. The lightning of the storm always fascinated Mayuri in a way that nothing else could ever do. Mayuri always wished that she could get closer to the lightning and therefore had this habit to reach out to the sky in times of lightning strikes.
Mayuri is a orphan that grew up together with her "Grandmother" or atleast that's what she always believed. Mayuri was always told the story that her parents had been in a accident and died when Mayuri was only at 2 years of age, but truth to be told: Mayuri's parents were Amagakure shinobis that died a merciful death fighting side by side with Hanzō the Salamander.
On a cloudy day out in the city Mayuri noticed a brawl between 2 men, they were using elements while fighting each other and Mayuri couldn't believe her eyes... this was the first time that Mayuri had ever seen a shinobi use Ninjutsu.
on the day which Mayuri turned 12 years of age, her "Grandmother" would finally reveal the truth, that Mayuri was the daughter of two honorable shinobis that died during the second shinobi world war and that Mayuri was never destined to grow up on a farm, Mayuri had the potential to become something greater than just a normal humanbeing. On that day Mayuri decided that no matter what, she would definitely master the Lightning Element, and so the Shinobi life of Mayuri Shiina had begun.
