Hidan is dead. Databook 3 stated he needs to sacrifice people with his ritual in order to stay immortal.

It would be a twist if it's this guy

but if that was the case I think Kishi would be taking his Uchiha wank a little too far.

Ok Can you prove this claim?

I own the 3rd databook and it says something along the line of this:

Followers of the Jashin Religion have to repeatedly perform a Ceremony in which they have use their own body - which means they have to experiment with a forbidden Jutsu. However instead of a blessing, this God casts upon his believers a curse, that is maintained via Sacrifices. Hidan was the first one to successfully perform this: He got an immortal body and the bliss of being Jashin's favourite.

^My Databook isn't in english so I had to translate is but that is pretty much it.
It says it's maintained via Sacrifices, while sacrifices means the people who die during these rituals. Which means if he stops doing these, Hidan loses this "curse", or in other words, his immortality.

Good post but Kishi said he can only die of malnutrition. So Kishi vs Databook. Personally, i like this DB idea better. If Hidan returned or was shown as filler, it could develop his skills further.

yeah in an interview someone asked him and he said Hidan only dies of malnutrition but that is unfortunate. it doesn't make sense. I like the databook theory better. Kishi is not very smart imo.

hey im not experienced with this manga/anime stuff but I went to double check again and it says that Hidan's malnutrition source came from Naruto 2nd fan book. wtf does that mean?

(look for malnutrition and click on the footnote)

What is the difference between data book and fan book?

Ok nvm. I did research and it was from an interview with Kishi. He said if Hidan doesn't get nutrition, he dies.

But why would the 3DB say that his immortality comes from rituals?

Unless... both are true. Hidan only dies of malnutrition because he couldn't do his rituals anymore. His body reverted to becoming normal again and he dies of malnutrition. But that doesn't make sense because he was beheaded. If he reverted back to being a mortal, he would instantly die.

I don't really know myself but I just googled "Naruto 2nd Fan Book" and I found this:
