I don't think Sasuke ever cared about any position or power in the village. And by Boruto the movie he's well respected by the ninja world elites and his past is in the past. The only reason he avoids the village is because of certain someone but he definitely cares for the village and his daughter.

What your not understanding is that Sakura is content with the means of their relationship. She isn't unhappy in the least and she's continued to build a home for her & her daughter while maintaining her beauty and Medical Ninjutsu. You shouldn't feel sorry for someone, something or anything that's thriving under circumstance.

She has literally spent her whole life desperately pining after this man and even as an adult she does the same.

Who is she pining after? No where in Gaiden could you reference such behavior of Sakura urging for Sasuke; in the actual chain of events or any flashbacks. Sakura didn't have the same disposition as she did in the original manga and that's because she matured in addition to getting snagging Sasuke and having his beautiful daughter. The fact that Sakura couldn't remember that Sasuke wore glasses is enough to conclude that he wasn't her at the center point of her mind or life and that's because Sarada took precedence in her life and made her happy.

It's a truly terrible ending for her if Sasuke has once again set off.

The desperation in that novel is straight-up tragic and there really isn't many other ways to read it. I'd love to be proved wrong but I don't feel I have been yet.

Sasuke would be a legendary Uchiha, famed as the legendary Lord Seventh's rival. He's also super-hot, with a dark mystique that none can match; traveling the world as a one-armed swordsman has only added to this. Simply put, Sasuke has never been anywhere without being the coolest guy in the room, even when he was talking one-on-one with Hagoromo.

Sasuke may feel lingering guilt about his place in the village, and feel it's his job to keep his distance and protect it from the shadows, but I doubt he feels insecure about his place there. Quite the opposite, he realizes his place is "the badass lone wolf who lives to track down threats that no one else can even perceive, much less defeat."

I hope that we get more on Sasuke's perspective in the Boruto manga. I love how he and Naruto are each a father figure to each other's kid (as well as their own). It makes me look forward to seeing each of the new protagonists interact with each of the old protagonists.

She is not a top doctor nor is she in any kind of medicial agency. What she is now is a house wife. Her place in the village is of a mother.

That was before their travels and their actual relationship of marriage. Yes Sakura wanted answers from Sasuke and wanted to explain everything she felt but that doesn't change how she acted in Gaiden. Which was mature & motherly.

Even though this is a desperate attempt to evade my objection to your response, I'll oblige you. If you read the novel Sakura established pediatric centers for children who were affected by the war. She also gave hundreds psych evaluations to Shinobi who fought in the war, she even established a line of contact with the medical divisions in other villages. Her novel want 100% Sasuke this and that so retread it!
