yep. All you have to do is see somebody close to ou die, like for kakashi it was obito. He just had to train the sharingan to reach mangekyou

I was under the impression that he had to kill his best friend.
I do know that Itachi gave him new powers like the Amaterasu.
Didn't seen him use Tsukyomi yet though.

Thanks men,i didn't remembered. Read that manga many time ago.
KillerBee free himself from Tsukyomi though with Itachi probably would have been fatal.

To him he hated Itachi. and never thought he was close to him. once madara revealed the secrets about Itachi he found out Itachi was actually his best brother and closeset friend. which led to him activating MS. Itachi implanted the ametsaru in him to fend against Madara.

eventually he'll get into enough of a fix with his eyesight that he'll have to take itachi's. I wonder what it would look like.

The second that Kakashi revealed to have unlocked his version of MS, was the moment we knew that Itachi's method was not the only way. Even he was surprised by Kakashi being able to achieve when many Uchiha's couldn't. By the time all the information of the lies and truth over his whole was told to Sasuke, it pushed his emotional status to the edge and presto, the MS was born.

Yeah I'm thinking it is a surge of strong emotions that triggers the MS like turning Super Saiyajin in DBZ. It doesn't necessarily have to be from killing your best friend. And Kakashi probably pulled a Vegeta and just forced his way into it through ridiculous training. That's why he got so much better over the time-skip.
And Itachi didnt give Sasuke his MS, he only implanted a single Amaterasu that would be triggered at the sight of Madara's Sharingan. As you can see it took the shape of Itachi's MS but Sasuke later on had his own style.
And Killerbee didn't free himself from Tsukuyomi, Hachibi did. It just so happens that Hachibi is inside Killerbee.

Nah, this is a Naruto thread, but I'd like to point out that Vegeta turning Super Saiyan was because he needed to beat Goku. Goku said the transformation responds to a need. Your last paragraph is right though, I dont think Itachi gave Sasuke his MS, only the transcription seal technique to get him away.

Itachi didn't give Sasuke the MS but rather was the trigger for it as stated earlier. Due to the revelation from Madara Sasuke's hate is what gave birth to his MS, he already had Ameterasu because Itachi blessed him with it as a means to fend off Madara which again was stated earlier but, Sasuke has already shown growth because he can turn Amaterasu off with the opposite eye. But Sasuke uses his eyes far too much and doesn't yet have the EMS so eventually he'll need to take Itachis eyes in order to stay from being blinded. Madara is just waiting for Sauke to reach his pinnacle of power with his own MS so that when Sasuke does get Itachis it'll be that much more insanely powerful Sasuke right now os a pawn in a much greater plot and he will be used to try to defeat the one person Madara fears and that's Naruto. But Sasuke will see through this and turn on Madara just as he did Orochimaru and attempt to defeat him which could happen if Madara lets Sasuke continue to get stronger. Itachi even said that he was one of few capable of utilizing the true form of the Sharingan.
