So much people suffer from poverty they hardly eat or drink clean water. What if *big what if* all the successful company's give one days revenue to charity wouldn't that end poverty or at least make it rare because some company's are so rich yet they store that money in their banks. Right now so much people dont because we watch them starve and like most charities they take a lot of percentage rather than help the poor right, anyways that was just a idea i had today.
What is defined as "poverty" in America is what is considered "middle class" in many parts of the world.
The problem is that poverty is as poverty does.
People who are in poverty rarely own 'real' property - such as land. They rent it. Often times, they are consumers of alcohol and various other vices like cigarettes and recreational drugs (such as the wacky weed - 50+% of the people who use it -really- can't afford it and are essentially living paycheck to paycheck). People who are in poverty tend to choose convenience spending over necessary effort. They are more likely to spend money they don't have on items marked up out of convenience as opposed to invest the effort in living more cost-effectively.
Wealth is your time, effort, and skill. People who invest little of those things in their own personal lives have little wealth. It's as simple as that.
There is nothing that anyone else can do to change this. If someone is unwilling to work for themselves or to make lifestyle adjustments - then they ultimately will be poor and forever beholden to the good graces of individuals or a system designed to steal money from others and hand it to them (we call it welfare and "social safety net" programs).
I've seen people who are financially poor who are, personally, quite wealthy. They may not be able to buy all of the things they want, but they are self-sufficient and are never wanting of their needs. They live within their means and they -work- to improve their surroundings. If they are laid off from work - they are doing something, perhaps it's gardening, perhaps it's scrapping, perhaps it's clearing brush or doing something to the house. The things other people would typically hire a contractor to do - they do, themselves - they invest their skills in improving their lives, even if it has no direct monetary payout.
