[Question] Masterpiece?

Does masterpiece even exist? I've seen animes/manga that people call them masterpiece and when i watch/read them with a lot of hype, it just turns out to be boring as hell.

Parasite had a good opening, i love it.

From the top of my head:

Durarara first season was good, the second season so far = boring.

Durarara first season was good, the second season so far = boring.

The second season had quite a bit of characterization from Mikado and set him up as something interesting, also showing there's more to him than he lets on. I have yet to pick up the light novels, but so far, Mikado's characterization was something more interesting than the content from the first season.
