Master Roshi in universe survival arc

How useful do you think Master Roshi will be in the universe survival arc?

He did manage to fight with a lot of Frieza Soldiers in Revival of F,
so he is not total weaksauce power wise, but he definitely had the most trouble out of the Z fighters over there and needed backup after some time.

Has he gotten a lot stronger meanwhile?

He has a lot of experience, but does that really weigh much?
As the other fighters arent exactly rookie either.

Will he be useful because of some of his techniques?
Will he be there for comic relief?
Some other reason?

I feel he is mostly there to play on Dragonball and DBZ fans nostalgia.

I guess it's nice to be able to see him fight again but i feel he shouldn't of been there tbh

its just really hard to believe that in the entire universe 7 there arent more capable fighters than roshi and tien? wtf lol

Yeah thats what I thought too (although I called it fanservice in my other thread about the 10man lineup), but I still hope there is more too it.
Like special techniques that come in handy or some other surprise.

Hopefully the main reason is not comic relief.
Not that I dont like a good laugh but I dont want to see a character being brought to the 10man lineup for mainly that reason.

Power lvl wise I would think so too.

However there may be an advantage to this 10man lineup where all are from planet earth.
Something we dont know yet.
There may also be teamfights and the uni7 fighters knowing each other may come in handy
or some other advantage to them knowing each other and living on the same planet.

Also it may give problems later on if they would introduce new uni7 fighters as what will you do with those
after the tournament? What kind of story will they have? They would likely need more background as they are
from the same universe compared to all the new fighters that we already get from other universes.

Not that I dont want to see new uni7 fighters though but I can understand that we didnt get any new ones
for this tournament. It also gives a chance to put some old characters more in the spotlight.

The other z fighters that many people wanted to see be more relevant again.
