I find it funny because all the media keeps talking about we need stricter gun laws but news like this never hits the mainstream media I wonder why? So we gonna ignore this or damage control?

Nothing wrong with being armed, myself and my family is armed with firearms yes I feel much safer wth a firearm at all times but that doesn't change the fact that this country does need strict laws in regards to a thorough background check and psychological evaluation when purchasing firearms

You need to understand that stricter gun laws doesn't mean this guy wouldn't have his gun. Stricture gun laws means a person shouldn't have weapons past a certain level, and should pass a mental and physical evaluation before being allowed to buy a gun, as well as not being able to buy guns when you're under severe investigation.

Realistically, none of these things if implemented would have stopped this guy from having his gun at that moment, so this doesn't actually defeat the argument of stricter gun laws.

The conservatives say the government is trying to strip us of our rights to bear arms. Although, DNC are strict on gun laws (without withholding to the constitution - due process - to near abolishment), the GOP don't care about the people safety because they are brough by the NRA.

The black market of ghost guns are on the rise ,if you have skills in drill pressing or milling your able to make firearms. They've even made milling machines for creating firearms which isn't illegal even so you can claim it to be for other use or purposes, 3D printers is also an option but it's expensive well for now atleast.

Philippines has strict gun control look these guys are creating ghost guns with no problem, also the full documentary showed how these guns made it all the way to the United States,Mexico, and South America.

Most firearms that are being purchased are ghost guns that can't be linked, specially made so they can't be traced or even known to existence under federal radar. The government can start claiming anyone to being whatever they what them to be under their jurisdiction.

Right in my back yard too. I think we should be able to arm ourselves as long as we haven't/don't do anything to cause concern for safety.

Do you think this would be celebrated if the person was of color?

I was about to come in here and say the exact same thing. Glad to hear others thinking this as well.

Just like getting your drivers license or operating certain pieces of dangerous machinery, it wouldn't be a bad idea to require hopeful gun owners to take a certification class before applying for a gun. That way people can learn proper gun safety, learn laws and regulations, and also go through an extensive background and psychological check.

We dont have to go to extremes to fix our issues on guns, and the fact that so many people cling to those extremes out of fear is what is making everyone irrational. We can meet in the middle where everyone (except for terrorists and mentally unstable people) win.

Apparently the three of us would be good friends in real life.

Make that four :scorps:

Ok and with stricter gun laws the shooter might not even had a gun to begin with.

And maybe the armed samaritan would still have had a gun.

Finally we're discussing this.

concealed carry sounds like a more appealing idea so long as the shooting doesn't take place in dark, confined spaces

Neat one shooting out of the many successful ones stopped. Sure, lets not go over the means of how the guy got a gun in the first place but just ignore the problem entirely because for once out of many times, something went right.
