No, only the current(after 2011) Atom uses fusion/fission. The old Atom (before 2011) manipulates quantum fields due to his dilustel skin, which allows him to do almost anything he wants. He even created his own universe complete with Spectre and later destroyed it because he sucked at management.

first hulk has beat gladiator,sentry,thor,and surfer but surfer was limited on his power use at the time.so i don't buy that hulk can't beat flying characters.supermans ranged attacks are heat and cold based so they wouldn't be that effective against the hulk.if you think supes will always beat characters that can't fly than you haven't seen grundy knock him out or doomsday beat him to death.hulk strength,speed,and regeneration gets better the angrier he gets and i believe the current hulk could even be stronger then current superman

i know captain atom is very powerful and i didn't know about the quantum fields,that being said surfer can manipulate and absorb energy on a molecular level.he can also control gravity and do just about anything you can think of with energy.it would be a great fight but based on powers i still think surfer takes it.think about it.galactus binded himself to all the energy in the universe when it was gathered at one point in the universe.he is the master of the power cosmic and gave the surfer some of that ability.i could be wrong but i just don't really see atom being that powerful.surfer once said "i can change your eyes into singularities and boil your blood inside your skin"i could be wrong but i think atom would lose

Superman would defenitely lose to Hulk. Why is this still going on after all this time. Yes, superman can fly and has lazerbeam eyes but Hulk gets stronger as he gets angrier. Superman will run out of juice and Hulk will destroy him. And if superman chooses to run once Hulk starts to smash (like he always does) and becomes destructive, superman would come back to save the innocent civilians and Hulk will get him again. And once superman runs out of juice (like I've see him do countless of times) he will get pummeled by Hulk. R.I.P. Superman.

first off their would be massive casualties on both sides.everyone is talking like it would be one sided and that just isn't the case.i have read all the posts and this isn't a popularity contest but who would win based on powers.so everyone should stop getting all worked up about it.as far as all the hulk comments,hulk can lose fights.he generally doesn't since becoming world war hulk but it has happened.he lost to zeus {the second skyfather and a greater god in marvel}that being said,he did knock him around and show he wasn't a punk.also he can survive in space now and has beat a bunch of supped up heroes that can fly{gladiator,thor,sentry,surfer but surfers powers were limited at the time}so the arguement that hulk can't beat fast flying characters doesn't work.silver surfer,morg,terrax,firelord,hulk,red hulk,gladiator,adam warlock,thor,nova,quasar,ms marvel,hercules,xavier and at least a thousand mutants make me believe marvel would take an all out war between the two universes.im not gonna include entities because i think marvel takes that as well.no,lobo would destroy wolverine,i remember that being on an earlier post.as far as batman taking down the major marvel heroes it wouldn't happen.put the best ufc fighter in a cage with an 800 lb gorilla and the results would be something kids couldn't watch.as resourceful as batman is he wouldn't last 10 seconds against even spiderman.{batman can lift 800 lbs and has reflexes of olympic athlete,spiderman can lift 20,000 lbs and has enhanced speed,reflexes and spider silk that is one of the strongest substances known to man}their would be massive casualties on both sides but marvel would win

as far as all the superman comments.supes has been knocked out by soloman grundy and black adam,he was nearly killed by doomsday and has lost to mongul and a whole host of others.alot of which don't fly.as far as the speed comment that dc speedsters would wipe out marvel before they could do anything.gladiator,silver surfer,morg,terrax,nova,firelord,can all travel just as fast if not fast than dc counterparts.like i said before,this wouldn't be a one sided fight and it would get ugly fast.please stop saying things like precrisis and ealier versions of because its just showing that you don't think dc current characters can win.someone said in an earlier post that someone for marvel couldn't back what they said.i can so if you think dc has it in the bag,debate with me but i hope you have the time to look up what i tell you as i will do the same for you.

oh and one more thing i forgot to mention earlier.as far as captain atoms earlier powers and him beating surfer if he had his earlier powers you could be right.i think if he's using his former powers than i would put him up against quasar who is constantly draining and using cosmic energy with his bands.i don't know if it would work but again your talking about someones former powers.quasar has drained cosmic energy from thanos,pheonix and watcher so i don't know who would win but he is the best marvel opponent i can think of that isn't considered an entity.that being said if he created another dc universe using these powers,maybe he should have been an entity.

Atom wasn't created to function the universe. He just got lucky with his powers. So I guess he isn't considered an entity. Quasar's powers seems to be similar to Captain Atom's former powers, both tap into some kind of quantum field. I don't know who can win this one. Atom has some limit to his powers though. If he uses too much energy from quantum field, then he involuntarily time travels. BTW, what chance do you think Hyperstorm has in this fight?That guy singlehandedly conquered a marvel universe, and he controls powers from hyperspace itself. And he isn't an entity.

All of them gain their full power & use only those items and objects by which they're known for. Eg Thor can use Mjolnir, but Thanos cannot use heart of the universe. I think both sides comes close in this one.

hyperstorm would be a good match for former atom.it would be a good fight and im not sure who would win.hyperstorm would also be a good match for superboy prime.they are both of alternate realities and wield an enormous amount of power.good match.as far as the entities,good matchups,your really making me work for this.im gonna start with galactus vs imperiex.wow,what a fight.seeings how galactus already binded himself with the universe before the big bang,and survived the big bang,i think this fight would supercharge galactus.would be interesting to watch though.neron and mephisto are really the same so i would say draw.first of the fallen vs dormammu.i see dormammu as taking this one but with beings this powerful anything can happen and as such its hard to pick a winner.

i would have to say dream of the endless would take odin for odin must sleep and dream owns that realm.this can go on and on trying to pick winners with beings of such power.in the end i think marvel takes by sheer number.also having eternity and zom i think marvel would win.also i would have put nightmare against dream and zom against spectre.really good matches though.entities aside i believe marvel takes out dc in an all out war.what do you believe.if you think dc takes it how about you pick top 20 dc characters{no entities or entity like powers to avoid the headache of trying to figure out outcomes that are next to impossible to determine}and i will pick 20.we can make matches as figure it out from there.if not thats fine to.by the way,you really know your stuff.i think even you would agree marvel has the edge overall but it would destroy just about everyone from both universes.

plus superman is obviously more smarter then the Hulk, so to actually win this battle superman would need to rely on his brains, which shouldn’t be too hard, considering the Hulk’s intelligence level is on par with the average 5-year old. Hulk is just a big, strong monster, Superman is faster than a speeding bullet and more powerful then..idk

Superman’s got a few weaknesses, but since the Hulk isn’t magical and he’s not likely carrying a chunk of Kryptonite..theres only one place he could exploit, supermans <3

has anyone read world war hulk.lets start with what the hulk has done.when onslaught was kicking every hero on earths butt and it seemed like nothing was gonna stop him it was the hulk that went to jean grey and had her shut down banner.than hulk went and killed onslaughts physical form.yep when the entire avengers,fantastic four,every mutant hero team out their were all trying to kill onslaught only hulk did it.secondly wwhulk went right up and kicked the crap out of x-men,x force and a whole host of others by himself.he went and beat the fantastic four,and the avengers including knocking out sentry after fighting the rest of the avengers.he knocked around zeus but lost to him.beat dr.strange and even went toe to toe with a really weakened zom possesed dr strange.wwhulk is the current version of the hulk and he is far smarter than the original.also theirs always the also when hulk gets to a certain level of anger he can smash whole planets and just walking can crush continents.sorry but supes loses.
