In an interesting turn of events that could only have happened since Disney bought Marvel, at the TCA Summer Press Tour today, ABC President Paul Lee revealed that a Marvel character would be coming to their hit romantic-mystery series, Castle.
"You know, I don't know if I'm allowed to say it, but we've got a really cool storyline with a Marvel character that appears on Castle this year," Lee said. "If you guys haven't seen the finale for Castle from this past season, it's extraordinary. [Castle creator] Andrew Marlow is really hitting his stride. And that was an underrated show that really found its momentum. And there's one episode, and I'm probably giving away a secret and I shouldn't because Andrew is going to kill me, with a Marvel superhero character."

"Andrew is so smart," Lee told IGN. "He's always thinking ahead. He's got an amazing Halloween episode, so I think I give Andrew all the credit – although the Marvel guys are superb."
So yes, because Castle takes place in the "real" world it seems as though this hero will be appearing via a regular joe in a Halloween costume - though who knows, maybe it will be one of the less fantastical characters seemingly existing alongside Castle. Either way, who will it be? Are we going big brand name recognition like with a Captain America? Or are we talking Dr. Druid here?
Also, total speculation here, but since Brian Bendis is actually writing the Castle comic book, wouldn't it be interesting if Jessica Jones, from Bendis' series Alias, appeared in the Castle-verse, since ABC is developing a pilot for her character called AKA Jessica Jones. Of course, that would mean that the world of Marvel heroes and the world of Castle completely co-exist.
