Let's hope the rest of the LP follows in the footsteps of the first MMLP lyrically, and not in the uninspired style of Recovery or one of the singles on this LP, Survival.

Recovery and Surival weren't even that bad.

As an album and a song, no, they were decent but compared to what Eminem what showcasing in SSEP/SSLP and MMLP, it comes pretty low.

Why are you talking like MMLP or SSLP was his best album?

Because they are two of his best albums; on MMLP, he showed just how creative he could be and captured a wide range of emotions and the delivery is second to none. Rap should be judged by the rap itself and how well it's performed and that was the album where both were done perfectly.

The Eminem Show was his best all around

@Bold: Is that why you're comparing his newer stuff to its older stuff instead of judging it as its own?

I hated the entire Recovery album. It was like he wanted to be a hip hop singer instead of that killer rapper we all know

Eminem Show was good but it was also where he started to slip, the rap and performance couldn't touch Marshall Mathers, and although I'll credit tracks on TES for having some of his best displays of flow, and for the music being nicer to listen to, the flow in some tracks was pretty gimmicky and the intensity wasn't there as it was with his previous titles.

@Bold - It's part of the reason, nowadays Em just seems to go with the flow instead of giving everything his all and throwing in the passion he has shown previously. I just want him to show what he can really do, and just why he's so well respected. Ever since TES, he has seemingly been working his rap to appeal to others more, and that's holding him back.

Nah bruh. The Eminem Show was the best album lyrically and in terms of flow. Intensity of deep and meaningful tracks is what made Eminem the best, and the Eminem Show is the embodiment of that.

TES is easier on the ear but it doesn't capture the emotions and is more self centred than MMLP, where the tracks were easier to relate to as a whole. And as I said, the flow in TES is generally just gimmicky, it's not there to serve a purpose as it should like it had on previous EPs/LPs, that is where it fails. MMLP is his preeminent piece and is highly regarded as being the closest thing to a classic.

Looks more like Recovery 2 than MMLP2

Lol
