Never massively loved both. I enjoyed both games. I guess I'd vote for Sonic. I like him. Then again I love the classic Mario game. I don't know.

Neither really live up to their legacy, I enjoy mario games mostly but Sonic games have never really hooked me (Generations is good though)

Sonic as a CHARACTER on the other hand is f*cking fantastic and possibly the best character design ever. His design alone made him survive 20 years or so. Plus his personality is just so awesomely cheesy and inspiring.

That's been like 20 years ago for me but I'd say SONIC! Sonic forever! Guys, I'm 32, I grew up with him.

I just hated when they introduced Shadow the Hedgehog, that killed the series.
