I wondered a bit about their names. Not their meanings though. Like Kamui for instance. Why Obito named it that ? Is he named the jutsu or name of the jutsu magically came to him when he awakened it ? I think name came instinctively.

Kamui. Both Obito and Kakashi named it the same. Kakashi wasn't aware of Obito(Tobi) had Kamui so he didn't learned the name from him. But we know Obito also named this Kamui. Was it coincidence or was it the Mangekyo itself that gave the name to them ?

Also some people saying Indra's Arrow was Sasuke's only and he named it like that. Is it possible that the name of this technique also passed down to Sasuke instinctively via Indra's chakra ?

Do you think Indra himself would name a technique after him? Lol

OT: I see your point and I don't know, but tbdh, I don't really care either. The manga is over.

I don't think Kakashi every say its name, only calling it Mangekyou Sharingan. The manga bold text only signifies it being used.

I too believe ocular power names comes instinctively.

Either that or documents left by previous users of said techniques describes names. Because after all, we know more than just Itachi and Sasuke possessed Amaterasu.

They are all named after various japanese gods.

Tsukiyomi: God of the moon
Amaterasu: Goddess of the sun
Kagutsuchi: God of fire
Susanoo: God of the sea and Storms
Izanami and Izanagi: Don't really know but trust me that they are gods too.
Kamui: Authority of God
Amenominaka and Amenotejikara: Both names afted Amenominakanushi, who is pretty much japanese supergod.
Kotoamatsukami: Collective name for the first 5 deitys to come into existence.

Also, Indra is also the name of some god from some mythology, so i suppose Indra's Arrow doesn't break that rule.

He does in the fight before obito reveals himself stating the two kamui worlds are linked

the manga includes elements of Japanese mythology and even some hindu stuff so it's not a surprise to see somee techniques named after some gods...some very powerful techniques of course
anyway case solved :)

I'm not talking about meaning of the names. I'm talking about why the users of those techniques called them the way they did. Were they came up with the names or names came instinctively along with their powers ?

well the technique usually is somehow related to the certain god, for example amaterasu is the goddess of the sun, the flames which never go out so if you think of it it shouldn't have been that hard for them to make this connection between the effect of the technique and the nature of that certain god but who knows this might not be the right explanation
