"The Mangekyō Sharingan is acquired through the trauma experienced from the death of the person closest to the Sharingan user."
( )

Is it possible to awaken the ms through a genjutsu or even a dream?
How if Itachi used Tsukuyomi on Sasuke showing him how Naruto dies? According to wiki the "trauma" should be enough.
When Itachi killed his whole clan, wasnt it enough "trauma" for Sasuke to activate his ms?

and yes, a dream genjutsu, achieving the same trauma effects, would probably work as well.
Thats why i think kakashi gained it, because of itachi his traumatizing tsukiyomi.

Well Sasuke thought Itachi is evil and somehow he may have felt better after killing him in order to revenge his clan. Maybe the real pain he felt started after he found out how Itachi really was like.

Here u can see Obito having 2 tomoe:

But after he saw Rin dying he gets instantly the 3rd tomoe+Mangekyo.
So, why didnt Sasuke get the ms when Itachi killed his clan??

Because Sasuke is different then Obito. They are not robots, their bodies act differently.

Sasuke didn't even have a Sharingen at the time Itachi killed the clan. Also, I am perhaps the only one who noticed it, but Sasuke hated and loved his brother after the clan massacre. When he killed Itachi, you can see the conflicting emotions on his face. He is unsure what he feels. There is sadness, loss, and confusion scurrying across his face. And he collapsed right after that because he was exhausted. That was one of the most powerful manga moments for me.

Regardless, what happened with Itachi, Obito, and Sasuke later means that you need consciousness and acceptance of the loss that happened. That's my take on this at least.
