I know this idea may not be popular with those who demand they get a manga each week and lose their minds when it's on break but how would you guys feel if an author, like Togashi or Oda or Kishi or anyone for that matter, were to take a long hiatus(talking months to a year or more) not for illness or anything but took a break.
In that break they work on the manga, say they work half their regular schedule during a 1 year break, they would have 23-ish chapters done or if they stayed on their typical schedule they could have close to 50 done and in the reserve for when they came back.
Upon returning from hiatus the author would continue writing from where the story ended but released the chapters written during his hiatus. This way the writer would be ahead of the releases with some decent breathing room, if they were to get sick they would be able to take the time and not delay the manga.
Note: I was mostly thinking of HxH when I wrote this but it applies to any manga really.
