Thought I'd give a shout out to this manga since it isn't very well known.

So, my man Supermacaquecool kept sending me images of this series, and it seemed confusing due to my lack of knowledge but at the same time it was intriguing. So I thought "why not?", and tried it after I finished FMA. I won't say that it completely captured me and couldn't help but read the entire series in a day or something, because I definitely didn't, but I did notice that the pacing was actually pretty good in comparison to some of the other stuff I'd been hanging on to. Even though it was a manga, it felt a bit like an anime since the panels were very nicely placed. The concept is interesting if you give it a chance; there's a lot less "plot mechanics" than I had expected for something of this genre. It's not action heavy but it does implement a fair amount (especially in the last 2 volumes).

It's 82 chapters long, a fair amount even though personally it feels more like 60. It's just so easy to move through the pages. This may not reach your top list but I do commend it! I'll copy and paste a description of it:
Ryousuke Akiba calls himself ES, a code name taken from a mysterious scientific experiment. Ryousuke will live to be at least two centuries old and possesses strange mental powers: He can enter people's minds, discover their darkest secrets, even rearrange their memories so that complete strangers will treat him like family. Ryousuke acts not out of malice but for survival-wandering Tokyo for reasons known only to him. No one recognizes him for what he is . . . until Dr. Mine Kujyou, a determined researcher, meets someone who challenges everything she knows about science-ES, possessor of the Eternal Sabbath gene. But is he the only one?
I'll also give a quick breakdown on the more well known characters:
Name: Mine Kujo
Description: A neurology professor, Kujo is known for her compassion but is a little off when it comes to socializing. She is one of the rare individuals that is not completely helpless against the ES gene.
Type of character: The sympathetic kind we all know, has a balance of emotion and logic, throughout the series is in constant dispute of right vs. wrong. The main character.

Name: Shinichiro Sakaki
Description: An old immunology researcher whose current wish is to erase the ES gene from existence. The abilities of the ES do not seem to work on him as much as on others.
Type of character: He's not a wall of iron or anything, just a man who knows of the ES's tragedy and wishes to put it to an end. He has his own share of morals, but not on the level of Kujo. He's really a supporting character.

Name: Yuri Iwamura
Description: A little fifth-grade girl! She shares a bad relationship with her mother.
Type of character: I'm assuming she's supposed to represent the neutral point, going by whomever side (the antagonist vs. protagonist's) seems to be the correct way of thinking. She's an innocent school girl, but attracts the attention of the main characters.
Name: Ryousuke Akiba
Description: An engineered being with special powers, what are his true intentions?
Type of character: Analytical and calm, but can still be influenced by emotion

Kujo actually looks pretty epic in that first panel :whip:

Maybe I should reread the first 2 volumes since I had quite a break between there and the rest I think.. Akiba had such a different atmosphere back then.

And yeah Izaku was my favorite part.. pretty mysterious at first

Kujo is epic all the manga Xd
Specially when she went to shoot Izaku xd
I think Akiba was indeed different, since it seems he didn't know how much of a need was to have stable relationships and general he was humans from a superior and cynical perspective...
Yeah, Izaku was kind of mysterious!
