Edo Madara's Rinnegan was fake, it was limited in what it could do. It wasn't until Madara was revived and got his real Rinnegan that he had access to the Rinnegan's full potential.

This is obvious to anyone that read the manga.

Edo Madara was restrained by a weaken edo hashirama....Hashirama is canonically stronger.
