I do believe it's BSM as well but why would Naruto go full out and use RSM on Shin anyway? He's trying to capture him and ask him questions. He may have not been going easy on the kid but RSM would probably be too much for Shin anyway. I wouldn't say one or the other at this point. Let's wait till the Gaiden progresses and we may see a more serious Naruto.

And you still the marks around his eyes while he is on SM, same goes to bsm but it does not happen with RSM. In the hokage panel he doesn't have those marks around his eyes.

All I'll say is this. The form he used in Gaiden is most likely Bijuu Mode, but that doesn't mean he lost RSM.

He still has the 9 bijuu within him I'm assuming, so I don't see why he would lose it in any case.

Hagoromo took away Naruto and Sasuke's Yin and Yang seals after Kaguya's fight, yet Naruto was still able to use Rikudou Sage mode. So I would imagine that he didn't take anything else after Naruto's fight with Sasuke. If he did, then that would mean Sasuke also lost something in the process, yet we have no evidence to come to that conclusion.
