Should I directly read the manga or the anime is better? I need your opinion because I am new to one piece and want a general view of the series.

I say go for the Anime or if you want a good read and want to be caught up, the Manga.

Neither. :leaf:

But seriously, the anime is better than the manga overall. It's more "full" than the manga and Oda was actually involved with the anime so yeah...

Manga, the anime sucks without being WB's saga

Re: [OP]Manga or Anime

Depends on whether you prefer watching or reading

Anime has to not catch up while in the manga every chapter is completely packed with info
I prefer the manga since it's the Oda original

Neither. :leaf:

One asks themselves if you actually did read and watch it ...

Read the manga for sure.

The anime has the worst pacing I've ever seen. It has more than 600 episodes, and if they cut out all of the useless time wasting, it could easily be 350.

And the worst part is that they add a ton of filler to the canon episodes, so you can't just skip over a filler arc. You have to watch the extremely dragged out episodes.

Re: [OP]Manga or Anime

i would watch the anime until you are caught up, and then read the manga

because you would be bulk watching, it would come off still amazing, as when we faced pacing issues, you wouldn't notice it

you can google, the list of filler episodes, if you wana watch straight canon, then when u catch up watch them in your spare time

I'd say anime. Do what I did... Watch the anime till the TS and then start reading the manga. You're going to have to watch the anime for some arcs like Marineford since they did an amazing job on it.

Lol you have no idea what you're talking about...

The Fishman island arc is 50 episodes. That's like 20 hours worth of below par, half filler episodes. Or you can just read the manga and get through it in a day.

Watch the anime till the timeskip and then read the manga. There's a thread on here somewhere telling you which episodes are fillers so you can skip them

Last time I checked fishman island isn't the bulk of the story. There are still arcs that are watchable like the pre-TS arcs (prob. excluding Thriller Bark & Skypiea which feel a bit slow and it's better to read than watch.) The anime is still a great choice to watch till the TS where it's not that bad. The OST's add so much IMO. Besides, there's no rush in getting caught up.
