Man idc how talented boruto is there's no reason for him to be dominating and winning every fight he gets in. its just stupid.

Then ikemoto got konohamaru looking like a freaking scrub every chapter. This guy has been a ninja for like 15+ years and getting outshine by someone whos only been a genin for like a year.

Having talent does not mean win every fight you in. Sasuke had a bunch of talent and yet he still struggled. Why? because it shows experience is still very detrimental to growth.

1. Mitsuki did the heavy lifting against Sumire.

2. The fight against Shizuma was a team effort between Boruto, Mitsuki and Kagura.

3. Kakashi dominated the entire class, Boruto included.

4. His victories in recent filler arcs were team 7 efforts, or in one case Naruto just blitzing the train.

5. He cheated his way through the chunin exams and ultimately got caught and disqualified.

6. Naruto and Sasuke did most of the work against Momoshiki.

7. Boruto beat Shojoji (even that involved slight help from Tentou)

8. Boruto beat Ao (it was a team effort though)

Might I also add that Sarada beat Boruto in that spar with ease?

Tell me then what in the world you are talking about when you say that Boruto hasn't lost or struggled. He has been nowhere near as perfect as you make him out to be!

His only real impressive victories were Shojoji and Ao (and those required help like I said).

You have a point but I think what OP is referring to is actually Boruto’s weakness;

His overconfidence.

Boruto usually does dominate the fight. Problem is when he gets the upper hand he gets a little cocky or preachy ( like his dad) and let’s his guard down. He usually ends of falling for the surprise attack and that’s when Sarada and Mitsuki are usually present to bail him out. Team effort as you say.

But I think what some people ( including myself) would like to see is someone else on team 7 score the final blow on the current opponent other than Boruto. Aside from 1vs1 battles Boruto always “saves the day” so to speak.

But I get it’s Shonen so that sort of thing is expected.

Because he used some lame ass wind rasengan to scare some no name fodder in the anime. The moment he summoned Toads instead of Monkeys i knew he was gonna job. Just some lame watered down Naruto 2.0 without Kuruma/otsutsuki lineage.

He is the MC after all. It will probably be alright by the chunin exams, because:

> Boruto is talented but over confident
> he needs some reason for that over confidence thus some lucky successful moments, above his supposed rank
> That can be used to justify his initial lack of required effort in sharpening his talents before the exams
> Thus to justify panicked use of the gadgets in the exam to cheat later on (fueled by desire to not to lose)

Hero in shonnens or most fictions need some arc for personal growth and to come of as a winner in the end- due to some severe loss or costing mistake. Generic and cliche? Maybe but we still want to see how well they are executed thus shonene tropes.
