A swiping motion doesn't indicate the same result as a swiping motion can be used for a lot of things. Gaiden shows a physical claw making contact with the weapons and hitting them away. Every other instance shows Naruto's limb itself creating a big explosion. They aren't related in the slightest. Control has nothing to do with it. Control isn't going to change a giant shockwave that isn't even made of chakra into a smaller physical claw that makes no shockwave at all.

We don't know for sure but you're probably right about the shading. I honestly wish he used BM at that point so the there'd be no speculation on this.

It's just very inconsistent. He doesn't need to move in order to use it. Unless he's PT'ing part of the Paw. Even then that in itself is stupid.

I doubt there's going to be a databook and I doub't i'm going to be around when it gets animated so I'm just gonna leave it at that.
