I keep seeing posts on Naruto's base sensing skills being >> Sasuke's dojutsu sensing. I wouldn't be so sure about that...I would bet Sasuke's base sensing skills is greater than base Naruto's sensing skills (no dojutsu/bijuu).

Kishi couldn't waste panels showing naruto entering and leaving SM (or BM) to sense Sakura, and Sasuke probably couldn't due sakura and shin being a large distance from them, or him being exausted from jumping a group of persons with susanoo to kaguya's dimension. Kishi decided to give us a hint from the beginning that base Naruto can't sense that much.

Naruto has been fighting Obito with both KCM and BM, he couldn't still catch up to his kamui speed .

Gai is already faster than TSB, Minato just wanted him to maintain his momentum while charging at madara since he was using taijutsu and was about to give a physical final blow.
5 or 6 gates Gai >>> 2 TSB

Finally, Lee wasn't standing right next to Gai, or even close. Madara took that shot before Lee arrived at Gai's position, else kakashi won't throw a kunai right where Lee was and Minato and Gaara won't look so surprised to see him.

The silliest of A>B>C Fringe logic. And no, Base Sasuke has no sensing ability, just like Base Naruto. However they can probably hear someone landing ontop of a roof.
