Hey, 1st post (yay!!)

I've been reading the manga on this site and just finished the fight between Sasuke and Itachi - was awesome!

Anyway, i'm confused about Madara... why did he agree to kill all the the Uchiha with Itachi exactly? I thought he wanted to start a civil war with them - not kill them all! lol

I'm I missing something?

Edit: Where is Chapter 401!!? It's not on the site - goes straight to Chapter 404! :(:(

Thanks! guess i'll keep reading to find out why he helped! and whats wrong with this site? you just click the pages and it goes onto the next page instantly.

Very.

Funny though, I started reading the manga from where Hidan and Kakuzu got killed and was always confused because I didn't know what order the dialouge was supposed to be in; until I realised that the Japanese read from right to left lol!

Madara originally wanted to use the EMS to show the Uchiha's strength was greater than the Senjus. After recieving his brother's eyes to complete the EMS (eternal mangekyo sharingan) the Senju and Uchiha agreed on a truce, against Madara's wishes. He saw this as a major betrayal by his clan against him. When the leader of the Senju was given the title of Hokage, Madara planned to over throw him. When they faught, the 1st defeated Madara and he disappeared. After disappearing his goals were a.) Revenge on the Uchiha for betraying him and b.) the destruction of Konoha.

I think the civil war you're referring to was the reason why Itachi was ordered to kill the Uchiha clan. The idea for that revolution was not started by Madara, as he was already long gone from Konoha at that point. That whole thing started because the Uchiha were pushed to the edge of Konoha and always kept at arms length. By the time that came around Madara already wanted to kill the Uchihas as well. Its unclear why exactly Itachi went and got help from Madara. There is some speculation that Itachi couldn't kill his family, so he got Madara to do it instead.
