Too many assunptions are being made in the defence of such a thing for this to be morally or scientifically justifiable.

First, the assumption that these injections/treatments work against corona to a fitting degree. Second, that they don't introduce their own drawbacks/side effects which can inhibit the success of the new heart if not be as bad as corona. Third, that the aforementioned are true and will remain true in the long term. Fourth, that the aforementioned are true and currently gathered data and those working with it are sufficient to draw such a conclusion with enough certainty to effectively kill people over it. Fifth, that the previous point should ever apply in any sort of democratic or life-respecting society. Sixth, that such assumptions can be made and used thusly without incurring long term social consequences.

Finally, there is the assumption by society at large that such decisions, with their associated details, can be allowed to happen without at least losing the favour if not outright incurring the wrath of any higher power(s) that may be watching and judging.

car accidents aren't infectious and contagious...u piked teh wrong exenple bobi..
the consequences of a car accident are not limited to the individuals who cause them the same way the consequences of covid are not limited to the individuals who are infected.

but the point wasn't the consequences

the point is vaccines are good because they reduce the potential harm caused by covid in terms of the severity of symptoms experienced which impact the individuals infected, but also impacted the uninfected in terms of access to hospital space, and treatment, and also cut into transmissibility which again impacts both the infected and uninfected.

Mind you, we gain all these positive outcomes without "ending corona virus". the fact that it reduces the harm caused by corona virus is reason enough.

These crazy beliefs are reminding me why I left. What happened is this guy was most likely given a bucket list of shots and precautions he would have to take to remain eligible, in which case foregoing even one of them would have probably rendered him ineligible. To draw the line at covid vaccines and not the standard of such requirements just implies that the disapproval of this is coming from simple aversion to the covid vaccine.

The vaccine works. It won't guarantee not catching the virus, but it helps avoiding it and minimizes the effects if the virus can't be avoided. Of all the viruses this man could catch and had on his bucket list, his risk for Covid was most likely at the top of the list given that the virus is still widespread. As in, it's important and relevant to his would-be heart's health to have the shot. This is just a matter of making the most out of a valuable resource. Anyone doubting the vaccine at this point is just beyond reason tbh.

One outlook to it is that his life is being put at risk by this choice, but the reality of it is that, whenever his time came, giving him a heart posed a greater risk than giving it to someone complying with the requirements 100%. If you have 50 cups and only a liter of water, why would you pour into cups with holes in them? The water will instead go to cups with fewer holes and higher odds of maintaining the water. There's not enough water to risk wasting it.

I think that it should be up to the individual on whether they get the vaccine. It should never be forced on anyone. That's my personal belief & you can still get COVID after the vaccine is token. Barrack Obama & Kamala Harris' husband had the shot & still caught it.
