While the Austin-based art company Mondo unquestionably makes some of the most beautiful pop culture art around, there is a drawback to their normal sales system. They typically only have limited runs on their prints and sell out insanely quickly, meaning that unless you are by a computer when the art you want goes on sale (which happens at a random time) you are shit out of luck.

But Mondo made an interesting change to that system last year when The Dark Knight Rises was about to hit theaters. Instead of their normal lightning sales, the company instead created their first timed sale, making an unlimited run of a Batman design available for a full 24 hours. And today they've revealed that they will be doing something very similar for Man of Steel.

It has been announced today via the gallery's official blog that artists Ken Taylor and Martin Ansin were hired to design special posters for the theatrical of the new Zack Snyder-directed Superman movie. Taylor's piece, seen above, will be given a normal Mono limited run, set to go on sale this Thursday, June 13th (along with the variant you see below), but Mondo has something special planned for Ansin's poster. Rather than just being on sale for 24 hours, it will instead be available for three straight days - 12:01AM CST on Friday, June 14th until 12:01AM on Monday, June 17th. To add something even more special into the mix, they will also be producing a metal version of Ansin's poster, though that one will be limited to only 100 copies. Check out the labeled designs below. - See more at:

Great as this artwork is, if you want it you'll have to pay a pretty penny for it. Taylor's poster, which measures 20″x36″ is $50 for the regular version, $75 for the variant. Ansin's regular version will also be $50, but if you want to splurge for the metal version you'll have to pay $300 (both are sized at 24"x36").

To track when Taylor's design goes online you can follow them on Twitter. For the Ansin sale you will just have to go to MondoTees.com. - See more at:
