He dined at the chain three times a day and followed the FDA-recommended nutritional guidelines. Three of his students were responsible for creating a menu of McDonald's food that added up to only 2,000 calories a day. Cisna's routine also included walking for at least 45 minutes almost every day.

Cisna's students used the to create his diet. He told the that at first a sample menu included fruit parfaits, oatmeal and salads, but he had his students add highly caloric items such as Big Macs at the end of his 90-day experiment to prove they could be incorporated.

Now, not only has his body changed and his cholesterol came down 79 points, but his career shifted as well. McDonald's hired Cisna to be the brand ambassador. So he basically ate fast food every day, lost weight and got a new job because of it. That's my kind of success story.
Very interesting to say the least. What do you guys think? Would you do this to shed some pounds?

What an unexpected turn of events...

I would not do that, i do not try to lose weight and it disgusts me to eat so much fast food and non versatile type of nutrition. He did not even eat much unheathier fast food until some point; all salads and stuff even how much cal he would take was restricted to 2000 (an adult male needs slightly more than that) plus 45 mins of walking everyday (4-5 kms. Not much but above average).

Experiment is more like what would happen if you take less cal than you are suppose to and have decent physical exercise on top of it. Obviously lose some weight. But people will take it out of context and think it is healthy to swallow 2 bigmacs.

What's so interesting here? They made things up to look like burgers are healthy.

How about you try eating only burgers 90days 5times a day ?

You clearly didn't read it. He didn't start eating burgers until the 90 day mark. Of course, though he was not literally only eating burgers. No one said he was. It would be ridiculous to draw that conclusion. It's simply fighting the stereotype that says McDonald's food will make you fat and gain weight when if eaten in moderation and under a careful eye, it's just not true.

The fact that McDonald's needs to hire a "brand ambassador" is due to the success of their historical marketing.

If you think of McD, you think of a Big Mac and fries (their marketing was effective!!), but you also are aware of the health risks associated with eating those foods.

I somehow don't think their brand will ever be associated with salads and oatmeal, even though those are both healthy menu options.
