Great thread-idea, thank you a lot! ^-^
I planned to write a light novel for my own fantasy/manga story and have already a lot of ideas and the main-plot but don't really know how and where to start Q_Q
Anyway, I'll share my ideas for my major "villain" or rather my "final obstacle to overcome":
- mind-reading and telepathy
- telekinesis
- hypnosis
- shape shifting
- ability to fly/float
- control over natural environment (like what Kaguya did in "Naruto"), can cause massive storms, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis and other natural disasters.
This entity is invincible. The point of fighting it isn't for the sake of "defeating" it in the usual sense. It would rather be a battle for ideals/beliefs and in the end.. convincement.
Its goal would be to be eradicate the "human-like" people of my story.
The entity observed its planet over millions of years and when the human-like evolved, it wanted them to live in peace with each other. So the entity tried several concepts to achieve this goal over the thousands of years with intelligent life. But all concepts failed, because people could never live in peace with each other and waged wars over and over again.
In the end, the entity lost its patience and hope. That's the reason why it wants to "reset" the world to a state of time when there were only simple animals without intelligent life.
The entity would be very neutral, impartial and objective but also reasonable. It wants to have a peaceful, balanced planet and is not attached to a certain lifeform. It is also omniscient.
I also want to add the point "appearance".
Considering that this entity possesses the ability of shape shifting, it uses several appearances. The first would be a godly tree like Yggdrasil, which it used before intelligent life evolved on the earth-like planet of my story. At this point, it changed its form into something humanoid, to be able to get in contact with the human-like people. This form is easier to comprehend for the people. I'm not sure to be honest. What name would fit for a godly being?
Maybe "Shizen" (this is the japanese word for "nature", if I'm correct)
Millions of years, it is basically a godly being who was created together with the earth-like planet where my story takes place.

But of course, this won't happen ^-^

fleshed it out more on paper than I did in the thread and I had another musician one I'll have to try and (hopefully) find the info later, I never made it past the powers though.
