SP and Kishi should just write and produce another Boruto movie. The anime backtracking to the new generations academy days is pointless. We know they all made Genin and nearly chunin during the first movie. We still have Mitsuki's flashback to animate and Naruto: Maury (Gaiden) to animate as well. Nobody cares about that shit. Send Team Konohamru on a mission out of their country. Which I doubt Sarada and Boruto have ever left before. There's a lot of good drama to be had, with the kids being so far from home and away from the protection of the Hokage.

Instead of what SP, Kishi and Shonen Jump are doing now. Printing money on mediocrity.

The academy arc is important for more character depth and interactions . Don't like it? DON'T WATCH IT
Except they're already a functioning team in Boruto movie. Academy days really don't matter because things change after you get a sensei.

Case in point, Naruto, Lee and Shikamaru. All had failing grades when they left the school.

I love how the word "great" rustles people. Lmao, what would a lot of people consider the Boruto content we're getting now, compared to the stuff from 2015?

People are too cynical. Early Naruto was also boring as hell, and that had the pace going at a fraction of a speed that this is. Give it time.
Naruto was in the Chunnin Exams within a year. The dumbasses behind Bolt give us an entire year of recap, then EVAN after that have the audacity to force feed us a part 1 filler plot rehash. In other words, the manga hasn't provided a SHRED of originality beyond Bolt's mutated Byakugan, which doesn't even matter when it won't be brought up for another 30000 years.

I was more so speaking in defence of the anime, but again, chill. I obviously can't defend the entire recap thing they gave us, other than saying that its not a very good way for judging the manga itself aside from the aesthetics it provides us. You can probably judge the people behind the manga for their decision to recap, but not the manga itself and its overall quality...though given that we got a recap, what little new stuff they gave us from that did serve for an improvement, even if its not saying much. Judging the new arc too early is also a mistake given that we have no clear idea of where that is going. Remember that the Land of Waves started as an escort mission, after all

Would of liked more movies than the shit I'm getting now
See I really like my idea of Team Konohamaru leaving the village on a Land of Waves style mission. Not just for the sense of adventure and the action we're bound to get, but for the drama of Boruto and Sarada leaving their comfort zone and their parents. It was different for Team 7. We never met Sakura's parents and Naruto and Sasuke were orphans.

As it is now, Boruto's generation has it easy. They get to go home every night. Even during the Chunin Exams in Boruto the movie, it was like this. Compared to Naruto's generation where it was pressure exam, and then immdeiatly dropped into the Forest of Death for several days. Kill or be killed back then. Konohamaru taking the kids into the wilderness and them roughing it would be a nice change of pace.

Agreed.

I can't even enjoy the thought of the series now that the new author ruined it for me TBH
