hmm sure but the main character is lame,boring,hax and overpowered.

It depends on your taste really, watch it and judge for yourself.
Edit: My personal opinion, the anime is about a 7/10, which is the same as the average score for it on Anime News Network(myanimelist has it at a 7.8). However, the novels the anime is adapted from are 10/10 imo, and it is my favorite series.

Like most anime adaptations I watched, original is superior. Its light novel is better since it expands quite more of what's going on. Although I give it a 7.5/10 now, it's still quite an enjoyable anime IMO. So that's pretty much your choice.

Yeah unfortunately Lol. Madhouse did a decent a job, trying to fit 6 volumes of content down in a 26 episode anime is not a easy task, especially a series as complex and detailed as Mahouka. With that being said there was still to much wasted potential.
I would recommend reading the novels definitely, here's a download link

They were originally up on Baka Tsuki, but Yen Press licensed Mahouka so at the price of getting the novels to the states, we lose the ability to read the fan translations online with out downloads. I would still watch the anime though, because it's still enjoyable and watching Tatsuya do cool and badass shit never gets old.Seeing that you seem to be a fan of Torau Majutsu no Index, you should enjoy this series.
