What's the difference between a household vessel & a metal vessel?

I am still new to the series so yeah.

Household version is given to whoever helps the owner of a metal vessel complete a dungeon. It's pretty much a weaker version and doesn't use a Djinn

So Household vessel's are basically magical tools?

Yeah, it just uses power from the metal vessels Djinn. They can't do anything special like Djinn Equip
