Everyone seems to like to say Sasuke has the Rinnegan, and that is absolute bull.

He has Kaguya's Third Eye and the Juubi's eye which is a step above Rinnegan, or is a separate eye dojutsu, even though we basically are led to believe that they are all linked now

The Sage talked of how she used it on people, and it being a gruesome power, also, he called it the Sharingan's power when he told Naruto what it was. Madara calling the Rinnegan does not mean it really is, because remember, he doesn't know about what the Sage told Naruto and Sasuke. Just because he says something, doesn't mean its true.

Or it's a rinnegan-sharingan and kaguya used the sharingan part to cast IS, seeing as sharingan is best for gen.

In that way everything fits snugly.
Uchiha, Senju, uzumaki and Hyuuga all decend from kaguya. Uchiha got the sharingan portion of the 9 tomoe. Senju got her affinity for natural energy, giving them strong bodies. Uzumaki got her massive juubi chakra reserves. Hyuuga's got her byakugan.
And, her son's got the last thing she had to give - the rinnegan portion of the 9 tomoe.
