Uchiha family member s specialty to fan the fire is in their blood (this is why fan is their clan symbol,their pride- TN). Madra s weapon Gumbai Uchiwa (war fan) is a honorific, inherited from previous clansmen generations, carved of an unique spirit (sacred) tree "ryouju" from which only special ritual instruments are made.
This fan has a bound ability to convert incoming chakra to wind nature manipulation (seishitsu). By using the fan s stiffness,it returns back the enemy's jutsu in a burst of a violent storm,this is the “Uchiha reflection”nature. During the era of the warring kingdoms Madara killed many ninja by their own ninjutsu.
Picture 1: During the stage of the 4-th Great Ninja War Madara used this war fan to absorb Naruto' s "Chou mini bijudama".
Picture 2. And instantly converted into wind nature transformation. Strong gust of wind blew away Naruto' s shadow clone.


It converts any incoming chakra into wind. That's pretty nice.

that must be some wind power to have blown a clone to hell. It also explains why Madara kept the fan for himself. If i read this correctly, inheriting the fan must symbolize a certain lvl of stature in the clan but it has to be passed down. And Madara was against having a successor of any kind.

It was probably passed down to each head of the clan.

Well I doubt it could reflect Juubi TBB, I guess it has limit as everything and Juubi TBB is clearly off limit as the strongest attack

Yes it can unless it is one of the massive TBB of Complete Kurama which could be detabtable but leaning more like it is possible.

Well that's pretty interesting, though it's limited to the chakra quantity of a chou mini-TBB, which is still rather impressive.

I wonder if Indra used it since he's the ancestor of the Uchiha which means "fan". Would be weird if the first Uchiha never wielded the gumbai as a weapon.

nice reaction . Anyway yeah I read all of them. They have quite big of hype. However the entry of Night Guy translated give Madara so much hype stating one of the strongest shinobi, which could put him on par with Hagoromo and maybe Kaguya.

Rank of a jutsu has nothing to do with power, only the difficulty required to perform it. The fact that it's automatically converting the chakra into wind means you could basically perform its tech while brain dead, but that doesn't make it's any less dangerous than any other tech considering the stronger an attack is the stronger its counter will be
