Madara's voice in the flashback

Even when Madara was talking to Hashirama about his dream (at which point he already started following his own path) he kind of had a somewhat friendly voice. Isn't it kind of weird?

I mean compared to his voice at the present, which sounds badass and arrogant, he sounded like a friendly guy in the flashback.
It was really weird hearing him like that. :erm:
